Originally private gardens for the Knights, Upper Barrakka is now a public lookout point. It’s the perfect place to pause, enjoy the breeze, and watch the Saluting Battery below.

Saluting Battery: Traditional cannon firing usually at midday (and sometimes in the afternoon) below the terrace.

Nearest transport: A short walk from the Valletta bus terminus and City Gate.
Lift connection: A public lift connects the gardens with the waterfront below (fee may apply).

Terrain: Mostly flat, paved terrace with benches and shade.
Crowds: Busiest around the cannon firing; otherwise pleasantly moderate.
Facilities: Small kiosks or cafés nearby; public restrooms close to the gardens.
